O'Grady's Barber Shop has been established since 2001, when Julia O'Grady a barber with many years of experience decided to purchase the building and business at 91 N. Williams street, becoming the only woman to own and operate a barber shop in Mchenry county. She invisioned the type of barber shop that any man could walk into and feel comfortable.

O'Grady's Barber Shop is a grooming experience with great conversation like many generations before us. Along with our cuts and styles comes a full service that includes a hot lather shave on your neck and side burns followed by a shoulder massage- Julia knows what matters after 22 years on Williams street.

Upon entering, our classic decor from our dark wood floors, and old fashioned barber chairs, to our sports memorabilia, will be the start of something special.

Our uncommonly friendly and professional staff will make your visit worth coming back to again and again.

Julia introduced a partner Denise Fratto a few years later, she also has one of the previous owners Jim Dercole barbering 1 day a week as he has been doing at this location for over 52 years(he started when he was a kid).

Through the years her son Joshua watched his mother and decided to take up the trade. He works beside her as does the rest of the terrific staff- Jimmy, Margo, and Laurie.

Did you know there has been a Barber Shop on the corner of Woodstock and Williams St. where O'Grady's Barber Shop is currently located since the early 1900's circuit, and was origionally located inside the historic Blethlen Hotel and Tea Room.
